The institution with a modest beginning of meager 47 students to over 2000 student strength has now grown in to a institute engaged in imparting education in various
levels of schooling such as primary and high school (Kannada medium state syllabus), primary, high school (CBSE syllabus), P.U course (Science and Commerce) and Degree College (Science & commerce).
SSVK is situated in a newly constructed sprawling campus spread over an area of 2 1/2 acres of land with a serene environment and learner friendly atmosphere and is away from generic urban disturbances.
The institute caters to the needs of student community with an excellent infrastructure inclusive of state of the art spacious class rooms, computer labs, separate science labs, audio-visual class rooms and library for the overall development of the students.
The institute has excellent trained and dedicated teaching community also the institute operates 5 school buses for the benefit of students commuting in and around Sandur.
The institute is also providing free ship for meritorious students in the name of founder Sri. S.V. Nanavate to promote knowledge pool.
General Guidelines To Parents/ Guardians
An overall performance of the child and his/ her overall personality and safety depends equally on school environment and environment at home. So in order to do the best for your ward parents/ guardians are also expected to follow the given points so that we together can convert your child into a very good citizen.
Safety Of Your Students
- Students will not be allowed to go home during the college hours. You are requested not to make any social engagements or medical appointments during school hours.
- Request for taking the wards back home after cycle test/ monthly test should be avoided.
- In case of ultra-emergency please come to pick up your ward on your own.College does not allow at all any Students to leave without permission of Dean and Concerned lecturer.
Punctuality
- Parents must encourage their wards to attend all the tests/exams and avoid missing the College
- All the students are expected to join the college on the notified date of the beginning of the terms or after each vacation.
- Consult the circulars regularly and check all the group messages on Whatsapp .
- Please make sure that your Students reaches the college well in time, any delay can develop an embarrassing situation for all.
Responsibility
- The students must be responsible for their own belongings. The College is not responsible for this.
- Please ensure that your Students does not bring any valuable articles e.g. expensive watches, cameras and jewellery to school. In case of loss of a valuable, the school will try its best to trace the item but will not be responsible for the loss.
- Encourage your ward to cultivate neatness.
- Parents are requested not to send the Students if they are ill or suffering from any contagious disease.
- Please send your Students only after the period of infection is over.
Rules And Regulations Of The College And Students Discipline
- Students are expected to come to the college in neat, clean College Uniform . They must conform to the high standards of modesty maintained by the institutions. They should not wear gaudy dresses.
- Please ensure that your Students does not bring any valuable articles e.g. expensive watches, cameras and jewellery to school. In case of loss of a valuable, the school will try its best to trace the item but will not be responsible for the loss.
- Students should not bring discredit to the college or to themselves. Insubordination and rude behavior of any kind inside or outside the college will be severely dealt with.
- Students should be regular and punctual in attending the classes and all activities connected with the college. No student is allowed to enter the classroom or leave the class room during class hours without the permission of the principal. They are not permitted to go out during lunch break.
- The students should stand up and wish the teacher when he/she enters the class. They should take their seats only after the teacher takes his/her seat or instructs the students to do so.
- They should wish all the teachers irrespective of their departments.
- Strict silence should be maintained during class hours in the Classrooms, Library, Laboratory, Examination halls and in the College premises.
- Use of books, magazines and other materials not approved by the principal will not be permitted in the college campus.
- All lost property should be brought to the college office.
- Students are expected to take care of the college property and help in keeping the premises neat and clean. Disfiguring of walls, doors or breaking the furniture is a breach of discipline and will not be tolerated.
- Students are forbidden from organizing any meeting in the college premises or collecting money for any purpose without the permission of the principal.
- Students are not permitted to entertain the visitors in the college during the working hours. They are strictly forbidden from receiving personal phone calls or letters.
- Student should not enter the office room, staff room or computer lab without permission.
- Monthly tests and model examinations are part of curriculum and student should be sincere in taking these tests. They should not indulge in any kind of malpractice during examinations or tests.
- Eve-teasing is strictly prohibited & eve-teasers will be dismissed from the college or Legal Action will be taken as karnataka State criminal Procedure.
- Students must abide by the rules and regulations in force as well as other rules prescribed by the college from time to time. Thus, in the interest of the students, strict discipline has become the watch word of the college.
- Students who do not follow the college rules and regulations will be expelled from the college. 20. Students coming by two wheelers are instructed to wear helmet. They should posses a valid driving license. The vehicle must be parked in the allotted space only.
- Students Need to follow exam Rules and Regulations during Pre-University Exams failing which the Chief Invigilators suspend or Expel from Examinations.
Leave Policies & Rules
- No student will be allowed to absent herself/himself from the college without prior permission from staff concerned and Principal.
- Anyone who is not present in the class when attendance is taken will be marked absent
- Students have to obtain parent’s signature preferably from father in the leave letter.
- The absence of one hour or more in a session will be marked as absent for half a day.
- They will be allowed to attend the class only after the leave is sanctioned by the tutor concerned and the principal.
- The students should not absent themselves particularly when the college works on Saturdays.
- In case of absence due to unforeseen cause, application for leave must be submitted as soon as possible, and never later than the first day of return to the college.
- If a student takes leave because of sickness he/she has to submit a medical certificate signed by a registered doctor. He/she should submit it on the first day as soon he/she comes to the college after leave.
- Medical certificate submitted late, will not be considered.
- If a student takes leave for more than three days he/she will not be allowed into classroom, unless he/she meets the principal along with his/her parents.
- No leave will be granted for monthly tests and model examinations, unless for reasons of great necessity, which must be proved to the satisfaction of the principal.
- Students are instructed to strictly follow the format of the leave letter given in the college calendar.
- No student should absent herself/himself on the first and last working day of the college.
- The students should earn at least 75% of attendance to appear for university exams.
- Enmasse leave by students or abstaining from classes for whatever reason will be strictly viewed.
Disciplinary Rules
The following disciplinary measures may be adopted by the College in dealing with students behaving in an unruly manner
- Observance of the following is compulsory for all students and deviations will lead to disciplinary action:
- Students must wear their Identity cards during school hours.
- Students who come to school by their own conveyance should reach school five minutes before the bell rings.
- The school unform worn by the students should be immaculate , clean and should be worn on all working days.
- In winters , school jacket is compulsory.
- Boys should have neatly trimmed hair and girls should either have short hair /hair tied in plaits.
- The hemline of the skirt worn by girl students should touch the knees. The school does not permit students to wear kajaal/kohl in the eyes.
- Special care must be taken of all the school property. Do not litter and use garbage bins. Do not scratch or spoil the desks ,chairs and charts paper or damage the school furniture .

- Detention during the break, or for the whole day
- Suspension (7 days to 30 days)
- Withdrawal of transport facility for misbehavior in the school bus. In such cases, parents will be responsible for their ward’s to commute to school.
- It is expected from each and every student that they maintain a very cordial relation with the teaching/nonteaching/housekeeping/transport staff of the school. Students are not expected to get into arguments with the staff.
- In case of complaints , they must approach the Head of School.
- Misbehaving in class with peers/teachers may result in disciplinary action.
- Students found in possession of i-pods, cameras, mobile phones will lead to heavy fine apart from suspension from school for a week.
- Students are not allowed to bring any weapons or sharp instruments, such as blades, knives, paper-scalpels, scissors etc., to school.
- Students are forbidden from bringing any cosmetics, combs, perfumes, deodorants,etc., to school.
